2007!

Sorry I havn't posted in a while. With three weeks of Christmas vacation and being busy with more school afterwards, I've forgotten to post on here. As you already know, it's 2007! I'm excited because of all these things happening, including the fact that it finally started snowing again! I was starting to think that global warming was going too far. I actually found out that this is the warmest winter in 500 years, and that is just sad. I came here for a really cold winter and I came for the warmest one there has been in a long time. No fair!

On Wednesday morning, I'm headed to Bucharest, Romania, for the Music Festival! I'm really excited because I'm going to a new country and I have the travel bug in me. In other words, I love to visit different countries and see new things.

Well, gottz to go. (that "gottz to go" thing started with a spelling error) Adios!

Thanksgiving!!!!

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. I forgot to post a little over a month ago that I am now in the high school jazz band, as a middle schooler, at my school! How many middle schoolers can say that? I must be really good at playing the trombone. Then again, this is my third year playing and I did a lot of band stuff last year. I am definitely a band geek! Oh yeah, I turned 13 on November 3rd. I am finally a teenager!!!!!

I am upset. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I don't even get it off because it isn't a russian holiday! That is EVIL! Well, at least I can still have a grrrrrreat Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends.

Well, I have to go. Das Vi Danya!

Home Again!

I arrived this morning at about 8:30 on the overnight train from Helsinki to Moscow and there is one thing I have to say about the trip: Finland is AWESOME!!!! I think the only problem was the prices I saw in the stores and the rain we had almost every day. Other than that, the trip was probably the best one I ever had.

On Sunday, we arrived in Helsinki at about 11:00 and went to our hotel to put our things away and figure out what to do next. (the hotel we stayed at was called Hotelli Finn and the room was simple, but very nice) Then, we went to find a restaraunt with traditional finnish food. There weren't that many finnish restaraunts and the few we found didn't have anything my mom could eat, so we gave up and ate at McDonalds instead. After we went back to the hotel for a while, we walked around the town for the remainder of the day. The next day, we went to a large store that was 7 floors high called Stockmans and looked around for a while. Then we walked around the main square of Helsinki and went to a little market place. My dad even tried reindeer meat there! For dinner, we met a friend of my dad's and his wife at a place called Zetor's. (which was a finnish restaraunt) The food there was very good and I really liked my dad's friend.

Well, I need to go, so I'll tell you the rest later. Hey-hey! (that's goodbye in Finnish)

First snow of the year!!!!

This morning my dad woke me up and took me to the window and guess what I saw? Snow falling on the ground!!! I am so happy, even though it didn't stay on the ground long.

Well, I have to leave soon. Talk to you later!

A Lot To Tell...

Sorry I haven't said anything in the past few weeks. With school starting and so many new things happening I've been forgetting to write in my blog. Guess what? A week ago I got back from a week long field trip with the 8th grade to Siberia!!!! We were up in the Altai mountains(which is very near to Mongolia, China, and Kazakstan, and is a four hour bus ride away from the city of Barnaul) rafting on the Katun River, rock climbing, hiking up a mountain, and so on. It was AWESOME!!!!

On Wednesday, I tried out for the 8th grade student council. I didn't make it, but at least I tried. After all, isn't that what matters?

Well, I have to go. Talk to you later!

So Many Things, So Little Time To Explain

Well, school is going to start on Tuesday and I'm excited and a bit nervous. I mean, only two more days! I hope and pray that school is going to go well and I will have many friends when it is over!!

I just found out that sometime around Christmas my brother and sister( in russian, that would be brat and sestra!) will be coming to visit us here in Moscow! I am sooooo excited and I can't wait!! That is something to look forward to.

The factory tour was awsome! Did you know that matryshkas are hand made? I would know, because I saw them carve and paint the dolls myself. One thing I have to say is that all those little details were painted by a very talented person. It was hard to paint the details on the doll, especially the face! I kept messing it up, but I eventually fixed it. We also had a chance to see a monastery, but they made us pay for a tour because it was too obvious that we were a group. That was unfair because others were getting in for free! Some of us, inclueding me and my mom, didn't do the tour. Instead, we went to a market outside of the monastery, where we bought some things.

Well, I have to go. Das Vi Danya!
